Product Description

The SOUTHWARK METAL 97FC5 is a flex duct connector used to join flexible ductwork sections within residential and light commercial HVAC air distribution systems. It provides a secure, airtight coupling point between flex duct runs, helping maintain consistent airflow and system efficiency. This type of fitting is a standard component in forced-air heating and cooling installations and is typically installed by licensed HVAC technicians during new construction, system retrofits, or duct repair work.

The 97FC5 is suited for use in residential forced-air systems and light commercial HVAC applications where flexible duct connections are required. It is appropriate for supply or return air duct assemblies in attic, crawlspace, or conditioned-space installations. Installers should follow applicable SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes when routing and securing flex duct runs.

Key Features

Designed for joining flexible ductwork sections in forced-air HVAC systems
Provides a secure coupling interface to maintain airflow continuity
Manufactured by SOUTHWARK METAL, a recognized name in sheet metal and duct fittings
Appropriate for both new construction and retrofit duct installations

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for flexible duct systems in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC applications.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Shut down the air handling unit and confirm the system is de-energized before beginning any duct work. Secure flex duct to the connector with approved metal draw bands or clamps and seal all connections with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not overtighten bands in a way that collapses the inner liner of the flex duct.
