Product Description

The TECUMSEH 37828 is a governor spring designed for use in small engine governor assemblies. The governor spring connects the governor arm to the throttle linkage and maintains the tension necessary to regulate engine speed under varying load conditions. This part is a direct-replacement component intended for service technicians and equipment repair professionals working on small gasoline engines. It plays a critical role in keeping engine RPM within the designed operating range and preventing overspeed or underspeed conditions during equipment operation.

The 37828 governor spring is used in lawn and garden equipment powered by Tecumseh small engines. Typical applications include walk-behind lawn mowers, riding mowers, tillers, and other outdoor power equipment where Tecumseh engines are factory-installed. It is most commonly installed during governor linkage service, carburetor-related repairs, or any teardown where the original spring becomes stretched, fatigued, or damaged.

Key Features

Direct-replacement governor spring for Tecumseh engine applications
Maintains proper governor arm tension for accurate engine speed regulation
Suited for lawn and garden equipment service and repair

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement governor spring for Tecumseh small engines used in lawn and garden equipment. Consult the equipment manufacturer's parts manual or the Tecumseh parts lookup system using model and specification numbers to confirm fitment before installation.

Installation Notes

Governor spring replacement is typically performed by small engine technicians or qualified equipment service professionals. Before beginning work, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental engine startup. Take note of the original spring routing and attachment points on the governor arm and throttle linkage before removing the old spring, as incorrect reassembly will affect engine speed control. Refer to the applicable Tecumseh service manual for governor linkage diagrams specific to the engine model being serviced.
