Product Description

The MURRAY 26x216ma is a thread-forming screw used in the assembly and servicing of Murray lawn and garden equipment. Thread-forming screws cut their own mating thread as they are driven into a pre-drilled or molded hole, eliminating the need for a separate tapping operation. This style of fastener creates a secure, vibration-resistant joint well suited to the mechanical loads found in outdoor power equipment. Licensed technicians and equipment service professionals working on Murray units rely on OEM-spec fasteners like this one to maintain proper fit and holding strength during repair or reassembly.

This fastener is used in residential lawn and garden equipment service applications. It is a direct-fit OEM replacement part, appropriate for use wherever the original thread-forming screw is called out in the Murray service documentation. Typical scenarios include deck reassembly, housing panel attachment, and internal component mounting on Murray walk-behind mowers, riding mowers, and related outdoor power equipment.

Key Features

Thread-forming design creates its own mating thread on installation — no separate tap required
OEM Murray part ensuring correct fit within factory-specified assemblies
Vibration-resistant thread engagement suited to outdoor power equipment operating conditions
Direct replacement for the original fastener specified in Murray service documentation

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by equipment service technicians during repair or reassembly of Murray outdoor power equipment. Disengage all power sources and remove the ignition key before beginning any fastener service work. Use the correct driver bit size and style to avoid stripping the head during installation. Do not reuse thread-forming screws in previously formed threads where the thread form may be worn, as holding strength can be compromised.
