Product Description

The Selkirk 104006 is a 4-inch diameter, 6-inch length section of RV Series Type B round gas vent pipe. It is part of the MetalBest RV line, designed for venting approved gas appliances in residential, light commercial, and industrial settings. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and hearth professionals rely on Type B gas vent pipe to safely direct combustion gases from natural gas and propane appliances to the outside. Common applications include furnaces, boilers, water heaters, unit heaters, and other Category I appliances that require Type B double-wall venting. The 104006 features a 28-gauge galvanized steel outer shell and an aluminum inner liner. The double-wall construction creates an insulating air space between the two layers, which helps keep flue gases warm, improves draft, and reduces the risk of condensation inside the vent. This design also keeps the outer surface cooler than single-wall connector pipe, which is important for maintaining proper clearances to combustible materials during installation. The pipe size listed refers to the inside diameter of 4 inches. The outside diameter is approximately 4.5 inches, roughly half an inch larger than the inside measurement. Sections connect using a standard sectional overlap of 1.5 inches, so the net assembled length after joining is 4.5 inches rather than the full listed 6 inches. Multiple sections can be combined to achieve the required installation height or total vent run length. This modular design makes it straightforward for technicians to build custom vent systems on the job. The RV line is compatible with other MetalBest RV fittings including elbows, tees, caps, and support components, allowing complete vent assemblies for a wide range of gas appliance installations.

Type B double-wall round gas vent pipe rated for approved natural gas and propane appliances
28-gauge galvanized steel outer shell with aluminum inner liner for durability and corrosion resistance
Sectional overlap of 1.5 inches reduces net assembled length to 4.5 inches per section
