Product Description

The MERIT BRASS xnl106-202016 is a reducing brass tee fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Configured as a 1-1/4 inch by 1 inch female pipe thread (FPT) on all three ports, it allows a main run to step down to a smaller branch without additional adapters. The fitting meets lead-free requirements, making it suitable for potable water applications where low-lead compliance is mandated. Rated at 125 PSI, it is built from solid brass for corrosion resistance and reliable sealing under standard working pressures. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.

This reducing tee fits standard threaded plumbing installations where a 1-1/4 inch main line branches into a 1 inch line. Common applications include domestic water distribution, hydronic heating branch lines, and light commercial plumbing rough-in work. The all-FPT configuration accepts male-threaded pipe ends on all three connections, making it straightforward to integrate into existing threaded systems during new construction or retrofit service calls.

Key Features

Lead-free construction meets potable water compliance requirements
All three ports are FPT for compatibility with standard male-threaded pipe
Reducing configuration — 1-1/4 inch run by 1 inch branch — eliminates the need for a separate reducing bushing
Solid brass material provides corrosion resistance in water service
125 PSI pressure rating suitable for residential and light commercial systems
Compact design at 1.03 pounds for easy handling during installation

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 1-1/4 inch by 1 inch female pipe thread connections.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to all male threads before assembly and tighten with a pipe wrench to a snug fit — do not overtighten brass fittings, as this can crack the threads. Inspect all joints for leaks after restoring system pressure.
