Product Description

The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-1810-BM is a rectangular 2-position zone damper sized at 18 inches by 10 inches, designed for ducted HVAC zoning systems. It ships with a Belimo 3-wire actuator mounted on the bottom of the damper body, providing reliable open/close control without the need for a separate actuator purchase. The bottom-mount configuration suits installations where top or side access is restricted. At 9 pounds, the unit is robust enough for commercial-light and residential trunk duct applications. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the typical installing trades for this type of zone control component.

Zone dampers like the MD-1810-BM are installed in forced-air duct systems to direct conditioned air to specific zones, allowing independent temperature control in multi-zone residential or light commercial buildings. The 18 inch by 10 inch rectangular duct opening fits a common trunk or branch duct size. The included Belimo 3-wire actuator operates on a standard 24-volt control signal, making it compatible with most residential and light commercial zone control boards and thermostats. This damper is suited for new construction as well as retrofit zoning projects where the duct geometry matches the damper size.

Key Features

18 inch by 10 inch rectangular duct opening for common trunk and branch duct sizes
2-position (open/close) operation provides straightforward zone control
Belimo 3-wire actuator included and pre-mounted at the bottom of the damper body
Bottom-mount actuator position accommodates restricted-access duct runs
Factory-assembled unit reduces field installation time

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style zone damper for rectangular ducted forced-air HVAC systems where an 18 inch by 10 inch damper opening and a Belimo 3-wire actuator interface are required.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Shut off power to the air handler and zone control board before making any wiring connections to the actuator. Verify that the duct opening dimensions match the damper frame size before mounting to avoid air bypass leakage. Low-voltage wiring to the actuator should follow the zone control board manufacturer's wiring diagram and comply with NEC low-voltage wiring requirements.
