Product Description

The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-2008-BM is a rectangular 2-position zone damper sized at 20 inches wide by 8 inches tall, designed for zoned airflow control in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. It ships with a Belimo 3-wire actuator mounted on the bottom of the damper body. The 3-wire configuration supports both spring-return and powered-open/powered-close operation depending on wiring setup. At 7 pounds, the assembly is substantial enough for ducted applications where reliable blade actuation and a tight seal are required. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers for this type of component.

This damper is suited for forced-air zoning systems where individual zones require independent airflow regulation. The 20 x 8 inch rectangular form factor fits standard rectangular duct sections in residential multi-zone systems or light commercial VAV-style applications. The bottom-mount actuator orientation is particularly useful in duct layouts where side access is restricted. The Belimo actuator provides proven, field-tested actuation performance common across commercial and residential zoning controls.

Key Features

20 x 8 inch rectangular damper body fits standard rectangular duct openings
2-position operation for open/closed zone control
Belimo 3-wire actuator included, factory-mounted on bottom of damper
Bottom-mount actuator orientation accommodates restricted side-access duct runs
7-pound assembly weight indicates robust construction for long-term cycling

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style zone damper for use in rectangular duct zoning systems requiring a 20 x 8 inch damper with a Belimo 3-wire actuator interface.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zoning controls and duct fabrication. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the zone control panel before wiring the actuator. Verify the actuator wiring matches the zone board terminals for 3-wire operation before applying power. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and manufacturer wiring diagrams during installation.
