Product Description

The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS sh-110 is a clamp-on service cable cap designed to protect and organize service entrance conductors where they enter a service head or conduit riser. Constructed from aluminum, this cap mounts onto the conduit without requiring full disassembly of the existing installation. It features four 1-3/4-inch holes to accommodate multiple service entrance conductors and fits 4-inch conduit. Electricians use this fitting to weatherproof and mechanically protect the top of a service entrance assembly on residential and light commercial installations.

This service cable cap is suited for service entrance applications where rigid conduit, IMC, or EMT conduit is used as the riser. It is a common component in overhead utility service installations where conductors exit the top of the conduit and loop down to the utility connection point. The clamp-on design simplifies installation on new work and retrofit projects alike, and its aluminum construction resists corrosion in outdoor service environments.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 230 governing service entrance conductors and equipment. The utility service must be de-energized by the serving utility before work begins on the service entrance head assembly. The clamp-on design requires secure fastening to the conduit riser to maintain weathertight integrity at the service entrance. Verify local authority having jurisdiction requirements before installation.
