Product Description

The HOMELITE 996277001 is a seat switch designed for use in riding lawn and garden equipment. The seat switch is a safety component that detects operator presence and interrupts the ignition or blade engagement circuit when the operator leaves the seat. This prevents unintended operation of the cutting deck or drivetrain. Installation and replacement are typically handled by small-engine technicians or experienced lawn equipment service professionals.

The 996277001 seat switch is used in riding mowers and lawn tractors as part of the operator presence control system. It is positioned beneath the seat assembly and activates when weight is applied by the operator. When the seat is vacated, the switch breaks the circuit to prevent the machine from continuing to operate unattended.
