It is highly recommended and wise to obtain proper certification prior to use and to have the unit thoroughly checked by a professional for its performance and safety parameters before actual use for patient care and/or diagnosis. Rubber tubing, seals and other such items often need to be replaced on a routine basis for preventive maintenance on several types of equipment.
