Accessories

Rack mount ear brackets are available for $50.

Ixia client software

The chassis carries the server software only; IxServer and IxExplorer are the desktop applications on the chassis. The licensed features are used through Ixia client applications (IxNetwork, HLTAPI and others) running on a separate PC, or on an application server in a multi-user setup. One client session can use the licensed features of several chassis at once.

Client applications are downloaded from Ixia with a customer login and are typically free. We can supply a selection of client installers at no charge on request, but that selection is incomplete and is not part of this listing. This listing guarantees the server software and licences itemised above.

Included

Optixia XM2 chassis with its Windows XP controller, IxOS 6.50.948.17 GA and the permanent licences listed above.

Not included:
Load modules
Rack mount ear brackets (available for $50)
Monitor, keyboard and mouse
Ixia client applications
Any accessory not shown in the photos and not listed as included

Testing: what we do, and to what standard

Ixia load modules are tested in our own lab, in an Ixia chassis, with a version-matched IxOS. Every port runs traffic at full line rate with 64-byte frames, the highest frame rate and the hardest case, on all ports at once. Error counters are zeroed at the start, monitoring is read-only, and the traffic runs undisturbed for a window long enough to prove the bit-error limit below statistically, not for a fixed time.

Ixia and Keysight publish no acceptance criteria for load modules, so we apply our own written standard, ZC-AC rev 2. Each criterion is benchmarked to IEEE 802.3 or RFC 1242/2544 and set tighter, so that a module we pass adds no measurable error, loss or rate deviation to the data its user collects. Where the industry sets no number, nothing is tolerated.

Check	Industry reference	Our acceptance limit
Boot	IxServer power-on record (no industry limit)	Zero FAIL records; the card reaches Board Ready
Link	IEEE 802.3 link status	Up on every port in every sample; zero link drops for the whole window
Line rate	IEEE 802.3 PHY rate	Nominal speed in every sample; no downshift or renegotiation
Throughput	IEEE 802.3 ±100 ppm clock tolerance; RFC 2544 §26.1	Within ±100 ppm of the theoretical frame rate at 64-byte frames, all ports at once
Frame loss	RFC 1242 §3.17 / RFC 2544: throughput = highest rate with zero loss	Zero loss at full line rate on every port simultaneously
Bit errors	IEEE 802.3 BER objective: 10^-12 (1000BASE-X, 10G to 100G), 10^-10 (1000BASE-T)	Zero errors over enough bits to prove a BER at least 5× better than the objective at 95% confidence (beyond the 4:1 test-uncertainty ratio of ANSI/NCSL Z540.3)
Temperature	Commercial silicon rated to 85 °C	Every sensor below 75 °C for the whole window; drift within ±5 °C
Stability	IxServer event log (no industry limit)	Zero card hardware events during the window

Our test reports state, for every section, the criterion, the value measured and the result, and print every error counter per port for the whole window. Where the Ixia software does not expose a reading (fan speed, supply voltage, optical DDM), the report says so; nothing is inferred. A unit that fails is diagnosed, not written off. Testing to this standard, with a signed written report, is available as a service.

Items outside this test capability are visually inspected and reviewed for operational status. Any exceptional wear is noted in the description.

Troubleshooting, repairs, and test plans

We are here to help after the sale.

Troubleshooting and failure analysis. When a chassis or load module misbehaves (a card that will not enumerate, drops link, resets, or fails at start-up), we diagnose it from the evidence, down to the board:

Step	What we do
1. Evidence first	We pull the IxServer logs from the chassis, including the boot record of the failing card. Every finding in our report traces to a log line or a numbered bench run.
2. Boot analysis	The failing card's start-up is compared step by step against a healthy initialization recorded on the same chassis model and IxOS with a known-good card of the same model: insertion, EEPROM identity, slot power, FPGA loads, port card enumeration, fabric training. The first step that goes missing localizes the fault.
3. Varied conditions	Cold boot against hot insert, repeated runs, and a check that the card reports the same identity every time; an identity that changes between runs is itself evidence of a damaged management path.
4. Hardware-level verification	We swap cards. With several hundred load modules and dozens of chassis in stock, a suspect slot, carrier board, port daughter card or chassis is confirmed by substituting a known-good part and re-running, one change per numbered run, and by retesting on an isolated chassis.
5. Root cause and report	Board-level attribution on multi-board assemblies, ranked root-cause hypotheses, and a written engineering failure report with an evidence index, the disposition and the next steps.

Repairs. We repair Ixia chassis and load modules in our lab, verify the repair against the same acceptance standard used for testing, and document the evidence, the cause, and what was done.

Resource library. We maintain a 600 GB Ixia resource library: platform reference guides and user manuals across IxOS releases, product compatibility matrices, and IxOS, IxNetwork and IxLoad software builds across versions. It lets us answer compatibility, configuration and version questions from the manufacturer's own documentation.

Test plans. We can build test plans to satisfy your engineering needs. We take what you test today (a manual procedure, a legacy Spirent or Xena configuration, or nothing yet), map it onto IxNetwork and IxLoad, work out the licences, modules and ports it needs, and quote each step before any work starts.

Shipping

Orders may take up to 3 business days to ship from payment; weekends are not counted. Palletized items may take up to 5 business days. If you need faster service, contact us before ordering so we can adjust priorities. We reserve the right to change the selected shipping method to an equivalent or better service that fits the item.

We ship worldwide. USPS may not be an acceptable choice for international shipping due to size, weight, and export documentation restrictions; you may be asked to select FedEx, UPS, or DHL at a higher price. Confirm your shipping choice with us before ordering if in doubt.

Export compliance. Our products are subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), overseen by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the U.S. Census Bureau. We do not ship to Country Group E. Determining the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) can take up to 30 days; where an export license is required, licensing can take a further 30-90 days. For international orders we require a written statement of the ultimate end user, the intended end use of each product, and the buyer's agreement to comply with the EAR. You will receive an email with the documentation; the order cannot be processed until it is complete.

Returns, warranty, and money-back guarantee

This listing carries a 60 day money back guarantee: return your purchase for any reason within 60 days for a full refund or exchange. Returned items must be in the condition received and in the original packaging.

This unit also carries a 90 day warranty: within 90 days, a warranty claim is returned at our expense for a refund, repair, or replacement. Longer warranty terms can be arranged at the time of purchase.

All items are guaranteed to be as described. Any item not as described can be returned at our expense for a full refund, regardless of any as-is marking.

If you are dissatisfied for any reason, contact us first and give us a chance to work things out; if we cannot fix it, you receive 100% of your purchase price back.
