Product Description

The ECHO 10101028231 is a cylinder base gasket designed to seal the mating surface between the cylinder and the crankcase on small two-stroke and four-stroke engines used in ECHO outdoor power equipment. This gasket maintains combustion chamber integrity and prevents air or fuel vapor leaks at the base of the cylinder. Proper sealing at this joint is critical for engine compression, idle stability, and overall performance. The part is typically installed by small-engine technicians and experienced equipment mechanics during engine rebuilds, top-end service, or any procedure requiring cylinder removal.

This cylinder base gasket is suited for use in ECHO lawn and garden power equipment applications. It is a direct OEM replacement intended for equipment that has experienced base gasket failure, compression loss at the cylinder base, or visible leaks at the cylinder-to-crankcase joint. Installation is performed during scheduled engine overhauls or as a corrective repair when engine performance has degraded due to a compromised seal.

Key Features

OEM ECHO part engineered to match original factory dimensions and material specifications
Seals the cylinder base-to-crankcase interface to maintain proper compression and prevent air leaks
Direct replacement designed to restore engine performance without modification
Appropriate for use during top-end engine rebuilds and cylinder removal procedures

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified small-engine technician. Disconnect the spark plug wire and allow the engine to cool completely before beginning any disassembly. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and free of old gasket material before installing the new gasket. Follow the equipment manufacturer service manual for proper torque sequences and reassembly procedures.
