DELTA UNISAW SHORT STYLE LOCKING WEDGE SHAFT FOR HANDWHEELS

DELTA UNISAW SHORT STYLE LOCKING WEDGE SHAFT FOR HANDWHEELS Replacement threaded shaft for the center lock knobs on the UNISAW handwheels. THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE SHORT SHAFT ONLY. THE LONG SHAFT AND KNOBS ARE FOR ILLISTRATION ONLY! This is a “new” machined shaft, for the early style “wedge” lock system behind the center knob at either the tilt or elevate handwheel on your vintage Unisaw. The “wedge” lock system requires a short stubby shaft which pushes on a slotted pin driving two steel wedges out into the bore to secure the handwheel from drifting. These components are often found to be missing or damaged during a rebuild of a vintage Unisaw. The price listed is for one shaft. The knobs shown in the photos are for reference only and are not included with the shaft purchased from this site. The shafts are designed for a light press-fit into the knob. However, each shaft order is provided with a small vial of Loctite retaining compound, should you find that your existing old knob fits too loosely on the new shaft. We do have new billet aluminum style knobs available as shown in the photos. We also have a matching “finger” knob available for the early style Unisaw fence. Please check these out on our other eBay listing. Replacement threaded shaft for the center lock knobs on the UNISAW handwheels. THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE SHORT SHAFT ONLY. SHORT CENTER-LOCK KNOB SHAFT FOR EARLY DELTA UNISAW HANDWHEELS

This listing is for one newly manufactured short shaft for the center locking knob on the tilt or elevation handwheel of a compatible early Delta Unisaw.

IMPORTANT:

This listing includes one short shaft only.
The long shaft and all knobs shown in the photos are for comparison and reference only.
The long shaft, knobs, handwheels, wedge-lock components, and all other parts are not included.

This short shaft is designed for the early wedge-lock system. When the center handwheel knob is tightened, the shaft presses against a slotted pin, forcing two steel wedges outward against the shaft bore to lock the tilt or elevation mechanism in position.

These short shafts and their associated locking components are frequently missing or damaged during the rebuilding of an early Unisaw.

INCLUDED:

One short center-lock knob shaft
One small vial of Loctite retaining compound

The shaft is designed for a light press fit into the original knob. If your existing knob fits loosely on the new shaft, the included Loctite retaining compound can be used to secure the connection.

COMPATIBILITY:

This shaft is intended for compatible early Delta Unisaw's equipped with the wedge-style tilt and elevation locking system. It is not intended for later Unisaw's that use the brass-bullet locking system.

Please compare the short shaft shown in the photos with your original components before ordering.

We also offer replacement billet-aluminum center-lock knobs and a matching finger knob for early Delta Unisaw fences. Please see our separate listings for those products.
