I am the only one who used this product. It was obtained towards mid 1987. It was used less frequently as opposed the other two I had which were used by employees.

In the 80's you could not become National Preferred Authorized Service Center for major companies like Yamaha, Marantz, Luxman, Carver, etc unless you had all required test instrument, clean work environment, and attend their training service seminar as frequently and pass test.

1) based on its serial number, the unit does not require any service or modification except perhaps calibration

2) this product is excellent for Professional service center that deals with high-end audiophile products.

3) you can service and validate front-end unit of a digital receiver up-to the IF stage just before signal enters DAC.

4) All function as illustrated on manual seem to work.

5) This is not for least experienced engineering technician. RF/IF service require patience and skill sustained by experience. Will upload some self test photo soon.

6) almost all audiophile stereo receiver products service manuals have a step by step FM alignment procedure. Follow respective manuals when servicing products.

7) Unit comes with original one TEST cable, BALUN model 100 and BNC cable. Screws are sealed with Japanese ThreeBond Blue stuff 1401B. Should not be broken during the first 30 days.
