I have x4 ABB REA-105 that i had removed from an operational bank approximately 4 months ago, The building and electrical system was operational.

Description-The ABB REA-105 is an extension module for the ABB REA arc protection system, which is a system designed to protect electrical equipment from arc flash events. The REA-105 is a tripping extension unit that adds high-speed outputs for fast circuit breaker (CB) tripping and can also be used for circuit-breaker failure protection. It works with a main REA-101 unit and can be used to extend the protected area of the system.

Key Features-Arc flash detection: The REA-105 itself doesn't detect the arc, but it receives signals from the main REA-101 and its attached sensors and acts when an overcurrent signal is present.

High-speed tripping: It has two high-speed outputs that can directly trip a circuit breaker in less than 1 ms, ensuring very fast response times.

Circuit-breaker failure protection: The unit can be configured to provide a delayed trip signal to the REA-101 if a circuit breaker fails to open during an arc flash.

System extension: It allows the protection area to be divided into smaller, more selective zones by adding more sensors and trip points to the system.

Connectivity: It features RJ45 ports to connect to the main REA-101 unit and other extension modules, and can support up to 10 extension units for a single REA-101 main unit.
