Product Description

The TECUMSEH 35378 is a genuine OEM governor gear designed as a direct replacement component for specific Tecumseh small engines. The governor gear is a critical part of the mechanical governor assembly, regulating engine speed by responding to changes in load and throttle demand. It works in conjunction with other governor components to maintain stable RPM under varying operating conditions. This part is sourced directly from Tecumseh, meaning it meets the original design tolerances and material specifications required for reliable long-term operation. Installation is typically performed by small engine technicians and outdoor power equipment mechanics.

This governor gear is suited for use in small engine applications where Tecumseh engines are found, including walk-behind lawn mowers, snow blowers, tillers, and similar outdoor power equipment. Specific engine model, spec, and serial number verification is required before installation to confirm fitment. Because this is a genuine OEM part, it is intended as a like-for-like replacement for the original component it supersedes.

Key Features

Genuine OEM Tecumseh part - manufactured to original design specifications
Direct replacement for the original governor gear in applicable Tecumseh engine assemblies
Supports stable engine RPM regulation under variable load conditions
Ensures proper fit and function without modification

Compatibility

Designed to fit specific Tecumseh engine models. Verify fitment using the engine model number, spec number, and serial number before ordering, as this gear is not universally compatible across all Tecumseh engine platforms.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified small engine technician. Disable the ignition and disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning any internal engine work. The governor assembly requires precise reassembly and governor arm adjustment to ensure correct engine speed control after the gear is replaced - do not skip reassembly steps outlined in the applicable Tecumseh service manual. Improper governor setup can result in engine overspeed or erratic operation.
