This listing is for a pair (x2) of upgraded brass fuel tank fittings that replace the terrible rubber ones on the MEP 802A & 803A military generators. There is a picture in the listing description of the one I am talking about with a red X over it.

This in my "Gen 2" of this kit. After selling & installing a TON of my original, I found a few issues. Also, a massive about of China forwarding address sellers copied the kit & started selling via forwarding addresses here in the United States. Had to do something to improve it & stand out from the copy-cats.

What is new with the Gen2 kit?

This Gen2 kit has well nuts that are smaller, making them easier to install when the tank is installed, especially with the MEP 802A. I had gotten feedback & had a few installs myself where the hole in the bodywork needed to be grinded bigger in order for the large nut to fit. These new fittings are 7/8 on each side. You can easily fit a deep socket on there, even with the AN fitting pre-installed.

The other issue is with the o-ring. Some people didn't understand that it needed to be just tight enough to not leak. If it was overtightend, it would blow the o-ring out. I understand this was annoying as it made putting the AN fitting together annoying with it able to rotate, but, it's not a whole lot different than the OEM fitting. I also wanted the thick o-ring to makeup for tank damage done when removing stubborn OEM rubber well nuts. The Gen2 kit has Stainless washers infused with the proper rubber needed for diesel! The smaller one is for the drain well nut. It took me a while to source one with the proper rubber and the right size to not end up on the contour of the bottom of the tank. This is a hydraulic sealing fitting, so it can be tightened as tight as you want! It is designed as a one-time-use seal that presses into the hole & threads as it is "crushed". On my test install, I used an 18v Impact until brass shavings were coming off. No need to go this tight BUT I wanted to see how it would go. The larger seal washer is also stainless infused & is for the top well nut fitting. It stays on the well nut very securely so you don't have to worry about it falling off during install. It can also be installed very tight!

The reason I didn't use the same seal washer for both well nuts is overall cost... the lower one is costly & not needed up top & my goal is to keep the cost of the kit down. Cost had to go up SLIGHTLY from the old one, but I think it's worth it. And it is still a GREAT value over the fitting often recommended on some forums that is often not in stock & will cost more for two after shipping. These should be almost always in stock unless I fell behind in keeping up, but the supplies I found are quick & I can generally be back up in a few days.

ATTN MEP 803A OWNERS - Seems that some of the fuel drain fittings are very low in the tanks & the stainless seal washer still ends up on the contour of the tank. You will need to get it started & then hold the fitting from both sides, then get it very tight so it will bend slightly & seal up. Highly recommend removing the tank for this! Then you can test the seal with it outside. You can also grind a bit of a flat in the washer to help, but you risk it being a bit sharp causing it's own issues. I used a deep 7/8 impact on the lowest setting from the outside to tighten the nut & it worked great.

BEWARE OF NEW, CHINA SELLERS THAT HAVE COPIED MY LISTINGS!

There are a TON of CHINA sellers that have COPIED my listing & are using US forwarding addressed to sell similar products at a slight discount. Want to save a little & give money to them? By all means! They have no idea what it is they're selling, they just scan for things easy to copy & then list similar. Don't fund our geo-political foes. No idea of their o-ring type.

I WILL NOT HELP YOU IF YOU BUY FROM CHINA A SELLER. DON'T ASK!

I always help my customers otherwise!

I have many other parts & kits for MEP generators listed in my store.

Thanks for looking!
